Dr. Jennifer Hazelwood

Dr. Jennifer Hazelwood is the owner and founder of The Eye Site. She is originally from Akron, a graduate of Firestone High School and Ohio University. She received her doctorate from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2000. After graduating from N.E.C.O., she joined the faculty of her alma mater as a clinical professor and director of eye service at the South Boston Community Health Center. Dr. Hazelwood also served as a staff optometrist at Gillette Company and had her own small private practice while living in Boston until her return to Ohio in the fall of 2008. Dr. Hazelwood now lives in Copley with her husband, Alvaro and their children, Diego and Mia. She is an active member of the Copley community and serves on the Copley Schools Foundation Board. She is also a member and assisted in founding the Copley Chamber. Dr. Hazelwood’s extracurricular activities include being a Girl Scout Troop Leader of her daughter’s troop as well skiing, crafting, fitness, and going on vacation with her family.

Dr. Michelle Ford

Dr. Michelle Ford joined the practice in the Spring of 2011 after the closing of the Sears Optical at Rolling Acres Mall. Dr. Ford received her undergraduate degree at Kent State University in 1985 and graduated from the Ohio State College of Optometry in 1990. She also practices at the Sears Optical in Stow and Adolph Optical. Dr. Ford participates in an annual mission trip to Honduras to provide eye exams and glasses for those less fortunate who have no resources for proper eye care. She currently resides in Akron with her husband, Mark, and two children. Her husband, Dr. Mark Ford has a dental practice in Fairlawn. Her hobbies include water skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and biking with her family.

Dr. Amanda McMullen

Dr. Amanda McMullen joined us in September of 2019. She is originally from Devils Lake, ND and practiced in Minnesota before moving to Akron in the fall of 2019. Dr. McMullen received her undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University in 2014. She then received her doctorate from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 2018. Dr. McMullen’s hobbies and interests include hiking, enjoying the outdoors, and ice skating. She also enjoys traveling, trying new foods and wines, and playing with her dog, Miura, and cat, Dino.
